-The phase-in of the carbon tax in British Columbia continues with its annual increase on July 1st.
Nechako Lakes MLA John Rustad says the carbon tax will assist in the development of a bio-fuel industry while continuing to reduce emissions.
He says what we are looking at with the carbon tax is to try and intice the activities we would like to see and put an increase tax on the activities we would like to see people reducing.
Rustad says forestry communities can benefit from the tax policy as it creates a demand for bio-fuel industry.
He says carbon tax would not be applied to bio-fuels which would create demand for the product and a use for bio-fibre or waste wood.
