Developed countries should continue to cut emissions massively in the medium term, while developing countries should try their best to control greenhouse-gas emissions with help from the developed economies, Chinese President Hu Jintao said Sunday. *

“We are gathering together to exchange opinions on the issue of climate change. This will help to achieve a good result in the Copenhagen talks,” Hu was quoted as saying at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum being held here, according to a press release. Denmark is set to host a climate summit next from Dec. 7-18. Earlier, 18 APEC members attended a climate breakfast proposed by Australia and Mexico on the sidelines of the summit, said the release.
