Developments in low carbon technology will be on the agenda in June after the Manufacturing Advisory Service announced it will be hosting its first national showcase event at MIRA’s internationally renowned testing and design facility in Nuneaton, UK.
The organization, which supports more than 1000 West Midlands companies every year, has managed to secure 20 exclusive places for local businesses keen to take advantage of the green movement and in particular overseas markets, motorsport applications and the latest information on modular battery design.
There will also be presentations on business incentives for getting involved and the chance to test drive Mitsubishi’s i-Miev vehicle, Mitsubishi’s electric car that promises zero emissions.
Simon Griffiths, chief executive of the Manufacturing Advisory Service-West Midlands (MAS-WM), urged manufacturers not to miss out: “When we launched our dedicated low carbon service in December we spoke about a £3 trillion marketplace and many experts believe this figure has grown significantly in the five months that followed.
“It is expected to enjoy the fastest growth of any sector in our economy and this event gives companies a unique chance to listen to some of the key people in the industry, witness how manufacturers are already embracing it and find out how they can access support in order to take part.”
The event takes place on Tuesday 8th June and places are available for just £50+vat on a first come, first served basis.
In addition to test driving the i-Miev, delegates will also get the chance to explore Westfield’s electrically powered i-Racer (which utilises a modular battery design that gives it a lower centre of gravity than a F1 Car) and Microcab’s hydrogen fuel electric drive that helps deliver between 50 and 100 miles.
Modec, the world’s first manufacturer of purpose built zero emission vehicles, will also be on hand to discuss the low maintenance nature of their vehicles, with the motor only containing three moving parts.
