Isra-Mart srl news:

The City of Surrey says it's pushing an environmentally-friendly pedal to the metal as it reduces its greenhouse gas emissions.

The largest city in Metro Vancouver has pledged to reduce emissions by 20 per cent over the next ten years.

Mayor Dianne Watts says a new plan identifies 13 specific ways to reduce Surrey's carbon footprint and become more energy efficient.

Those measures range from energy upgrades in civic buildings to the development of green corporate policies.

Watts says Surrey is currently moving toward its goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2012.

She says the new emissions action plan will help measure the city's success in reducing greenhouse gases.
