Isramart: INDIA’S TCS, XYNTO TO OFFER LOW CARBON FOOTPRINT SOLUTIONS

Isra-Mart News:
India’s largest software firm Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) (BSE:532540) on Tuesday said it has partnered with advisory firm Xynto to jointly create solutions for decreasing carbon footprint.

Carbon footprint refers to the total set of greenhouse gases emitted by an organisation. It is often expressed in terms of the amount of carbon dioxide emitted.

The partnership will look at finding new ways to help firms increase productivity while reducing carbon dioxide emissions, TCS said in a statement.

These solutions will be initially built and deployed in the Nordic market, it added.

“We recognise the need for collaboration to create solutions for our customers that address the challenges of global climate change by leveraging technology,” TCS Vice President and Head (Europe) A S Lakshminarayanan said.

Through energy efficiency and replacement of high-carbon goods and services with virtual technology, IT is expected to reduce 15 per cent of total global greenhouse gas emission by 2020, additionally saving 600 billion euros in the process.
