Isramart : Norway carbon caption facility

Isramart news:
Norway is among those countries pledging the toughest emissions cuts at the Copenhagen Climate conference.

Its ambitions include being carbon neutral by 2030 but as the world's fifth largest exporter of oil, the Norwegians have major hurdles on the road to becoming 'green'.

A carbon caption facility is slowly taking shape in Norway.

It hopes the building site will be the start of an environmental revolution.

It is estimated that when finished it will stop $2 million tons of carbon dioxide entering the atmosphere every year, instead it will be stored under ground.

The plant will not be finished until at least 2014 but the Norwegian government claims if this can be made to work on a commercial scale it will be an environmental break-through equivalent to landing on the moon.
