Isra-Mart srl news:

Marlborough Girls' College environmental prefect Josie Broadbent – centre, with fellow students Olivia Dekker, 17, left, and Sammi McMillan, 17 – wants to see 350 of her peers cycling to school to support the international 350.org day of action. It's all about raising awareness and fighting our carbon emissions.

"Our target is 350 girls on bikes and we usually have about 100 in good weather."

And the significance of the number 350? "If a handful of air has one million particles, only 350 of these should be CO2. This is the maximum safe limit for the world. Right now, we are up to 390," says Josie, 18.

The international grassroots movement 350.org encourages schoolchildren to hold an environmentally focused event on September 23 and communities to run events on October 10. Last year, more than 5200 events were held in more than 180 countries.
