Managing Director of The CarbonNeutral Company, Jonathan Shopley will be in Sri Lanka in connection for the launch of the Carbon Consulting Company [CCC]. This is a new venture formed by Fazal Fausz, Managing Director Rainco, Subramaniam Eassuwaran, Deputy Chairman, Easwaran Brothers Exports, Nobel Laureate Professor Mohan Munasinghe and Conservationist Dr Ranil Senanayake.

The aim of the Carbon Consulting Company (CCC) is to offer a complete end-to-end service for companies that are committed to reducing their carbon emissions. To that end, CCC has developed emissions assessment capabilities that position CCC to effectively measure the carbon emissions produced by businesses and their products. CCC is also an approved reseller of The CarbonNeutral Company's services, including carbon offsets and CarbonNeutral® certification.

With 25 years of experience in identifying and mitigating environmental impacts from the industry, Shopley is an industry veteran. He began his career in the mining industry in South Africa as an engineer with Steffen Robertson & Kirsten, reviewing the environmental and social impacts of some of the world's largest mining projects, and developing pollution mitigation programmes. Prior to joining The CarbonNeutral Company, he was Managing Director of the Global Environmental and Risk Consulting business of the management and technology consulting company Arthur D Little. He also co-founded the Company's sustainable development and corporate responsibility practice.

As the Managing Director of The CarbonNeutral Company, Shopley is responsible for the Company's contribution to international policy developments on climate change and standards for carbon trading and carbon offsetting. Passionate about tackling climate change, he has written and spoken extensively on the subject. He was instrumental in founding the International Carbon Reduction and Offset Alliance [ ICROA], the leading membership body of organisations offering offsets and carbon management services.
