Isra-Mart SRL news:

The Carbon Trust will be introducing a new service to make it easier and more cost effective for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to reduce their energy usage.

SMEs account for 45 per cent of business energy use, according to government statistics, which is why the trust is targeting them with their new initiative.

A new online application process will make it easier for SMEs to be assessed in terms of their emissions and certified in a cost-effective manner against the requirements of the Carbon Trust Standard.

Harry Morrison, general manager of the trust, said: “When added together, the potential for savings by SMEs could be up to £1.1 billion so carbon management is fast becoming a business imperative.

He added: “Our new assessment and certification service is a great way for small and growing companies to accurately assess and benchmark their carbon performance, support their ongoing carbon reduction programmes and most importantly independently certify and promote their carbon saving achievements to key stakeholders.”

The Carbon Trust is a not-for-profit company which aims to help the UK accelerate towards becoming a low-carbon economy.
