Isra-Mart srl news:

BusinessGreen has today announced the line-up for its upcoming lecture evening on managing climate risks, confirming the event will feature speakers from the Met Office, London School of Economics, global risk management firm DNV and retail giant Asda.

The latest in our Sustainable Business Lecture Series, entitled Preparing for Stormy Weather - Identifying and Managing Climate Risks and delivered in association with global risk management firm DNV, will take place at the Wolfson Theatre at the London School of Economics at 6:30pm on Wednesday 16 March.

The series of short lectures will explore the growing climate-related risks many businesses face and ask how executives can effectively manage and reduce those risks.

Attendees will hear from Dr Michael G. Sanderson, senior climate consultant at the Met Office, who will provide an introduction to the science of climate change and an update on the latest climate projections for the coming decades, and former climate change adviser to the Association of British Insurers Dr Swenja Surminski, who will offer an insight into how the insurance industry is adapting to climate change.

The lecture evening will also provide information on how businesses are learning to handle rising climate risks through presentations from Dr Stein B. Jensen, director of operations at DNV Climate Change and Environmental Services, and a case study provided by Julian Walker-Palin, head of corporate sustainability at Asda.

Tickets to the lecture evening and accompanying networking drinks cost £65, but BusinessGreen readers can take advantage of an early-bird price of £45 if they book before 16 February.
