Isra-Mart srl news:

Japanese car manufacturer Toyota has launched a new plan designed to help reduce its carbon footprint in the UK.

The company is already considered a leader in the field, with it becoming the first manufacturer to see its average carbon dioxide emissions fall below 130g/km.

However, Toyota says that cutting pollutions from vehicles is only one factor in its plan to reduce its environmental impact.

Working alongside the Carbon Trust, Toyota is preparing to implement its eight-step environmental plan.

Each of the manufacturing giant’s 200 centres will be assessed on its current energy use and steps will then be taken to help reduce any excess electricity and gas consumption.

Thomas Rosselle, Toyota’s manager for corporate social responsibility said: “Our centres’ achievements in reducing their carbon footprint will not only be beneficial to them [the centres'] and to Toyota, they will also enable them to share best practice with members of their local community.”

Based on the results of a pilot scheme last year, Toyota is confident that it can bring emissions from the entire centre network down by around 15 per cent within a year.
