Isra-Mart srl news:

Following the success of BusinessGreen's recent sustainable business lecture evening in London, we are to host a second session on managing climate risks at the University of Manchester on the evening of Tuesday May 17.

Entitled Preparing for Stormy Weather – Identifying and Managing Climate Risks, the series of short lectures and question-and-answer session will explore the growing climate-related risks many businesses face and ask how executives can effectively manage and reduce those risks.

With Defra minister Lord Henley warning recently that businesses and insurers must step up efforts to address climate risks and scientific reports demonstrating that businesses could face serious disruption as a result of global warming in the coming decades, the need to develop climate risk management strategies has never been more apparent.

Attendees at BusinessGreen's first Manchester lecture will hear from some of the UK's leading scientific and green business experts, including Chris Shearlock, sustainable development manager at The Co-operative Group.

The lecture evening will provide an introduction to the latest climate science and insight into how climate impacts will affect business operations, as well as guidance on how businesses can and should develop effective climate risk management policies.

The short lectures will be followed by a question-and-answer session and networking drinks reception.

Tickets cost £65, but BusinessGreen readers can take advantage of an Early Bird rate of £45 if they book before April 21.
