www.isra-mart.com

Isra-Mart srl news:

Has your organization budgeted for enterprise carbon and energy management software in 2011? There are countless applications to consider — close to 100 by some counts — but research firm Verdantix has whittled down that list to 10 providers that it believes are leaders in this burgeoning category. Those companies are (in alphabetical order):

* CA Technologies
* CarbonSystems
* Enablon
* Enviance
* Hara
* IHS
* ProcessMap
* SAP
* TRIRIGA
* Verisae

Verdantix used live product demonstrations of about 28 different applications to create this list, and more than 99 different assessment criteria were considered. Those applications were picked from suppliers that had at least five named customers from the enterprise business category (companies with more than $1 billion in revenue). Its results are published in a report called “Green Quadrant Carbon and Energy Management Software 2010.”

Here’s some commentary from one of the report’s authors, Peter Charville-Mort:

“According to our customer interviews, the biggest change with corporate buyers in 2010 has been a shift from tactical carbon accounting to strategic energy and carbon management. Buyers also want advanced carbon management tools for target setting, forecasts and audits. This explains why some carbon management software deals exceeded $10 million in 2010.”

How much did you say your budget was for this software?

One thing that might particularly interest those of you evaluating this software category and that’s who the typical “users” are today for these applications. Here’s the Verdantix breakdown, based on interviews and its evaluation of deals to date:

My parting question: How long will it take for Oracle to buy one of these players? They are conspicuously absent from this leaders list.
