Isra-Mart srl news:

There are just a handful of tickets left for BusinessGreen's lecture evening tomorrow on the business risks and opportunities arising from this month's Cancun climate summit.

Readers can still take advantage of our special offer where readers booking a ticket at the standard price of £49 will be offered the opportunity to add a plus one for the event.

The lecture evening will take place from 6:30pm on Thursday 25 November at the Royal College of Surgeons in central London.

It will feature a keynote address from the government's climate change minister, Greg Barker, who will provide a candid update on the current state of the international negotiations just days before he jets out to the UN summit in Mexico.

The keynote address will be accompanied by a question and answer session with the minister.

It will also be followed by a series of short lectures on those aspects of the negotiations that could present major risks and opportunities to the business community, including a presentation from Adam Gibbon of the Rainforest Alliance on new forestry protection measures, a lecture from Damian Ryan of The Climate Group think-tank on the economic impact of climate financing mechanisms, such as proposals for a levy on international aviation and financial transactions.

Finally, James Cameron, executive director of Climate Change Capital, will provide an overview of the likely outcomes from Cancun and the wider implications for the business sector.

The evening will end with a second short question and answer session and networking drinks.
