Isra-Mart srl: Australia not alone, as China and others plan carbon schemes

China has announced it plans to implement an emissions trading scheme by 2015, starting with a small pilot scheme next year.

In the meantime it will tax the most energy intensive industries and give preferential tax treatment to developing green technologies.

If that sounds familiar, it is because it's a similar approach to Australia's carbon price and proposed emissions trading.

And it has been seized on by Australian politicians battling to sell the plan to the public.
