Isra-Mart srl news:

OXFORDSHIRE is now a greener place after a week full of events encouraging people to save food, energy, money and the planet.

Hundreds got involved in the first national Climate Week at the end of last month.

Schools, charities, businesses, and councils all ran events to help cut the county’s carbon footprint. The Earth Trust toured the county in a bus running on vegetable oil to hand out green tips.

Oxfordshire Waste Partnership showed groups around a new food waste recycling plant in Chipping Norton. And Hailey teenager Ross Harrison, 19, had his climate change documentary shown across the country.

John Tanner, Oxford City Council’s executive member for a cleaner, greener city, said: “Climate Week was another push in the right direction but we have to keep on pushing.”

Climate Week ended with Earth Hour when residents and organisations turned off lights for an hour at 8.30pm on Saturday in a bid to save energy.
