Isra-Mart srl news:
Small businesses are concerned they will have to deal with extra red tape if a carbon tax is introduced, but nearly a third believe the levy should go ahead to bring certainty.
In a forthcoming survey of broader business activity by accounting software firm MYOB, it found that 30 per cent of small businesses believe it is important that a price on carbon be implemented, while 27 per cent had no strong views either way.
Thirty-seven per cent were against the tax.

"It doesn't have a strong negative connotation in the business community," MYOB chief executive Tim Reed said.
"There are probably a lot of people out there who believe it might be the right thing and it's a necessary thing, but are concerned about the way it is implemented, that it might put on additional red tape."
He said business likes certainty, and believes the carbon tax will do just that.
"I think the lack of certainty is having a cost on business."
