Isra-Mart srl news:
The carbon tax will hit travellers' hip pockets with Qantas chief executive Alan Joyce saying the airline will pass on some of the estimated 100 million dollars a year it'll be slugged.
Mr Joyce says a carbon price of between 20 and 30 dollars per tonne will see domestic flights rise by about six dollars.
He's told ABC television high aviation fuel prices mean profit margins aren't sufficient for the company to absorb the full cost of the tax .. due to be introduced in July 2012.
Mr Joyce says Qantas is involved in the government's climate change round table with business which is providing a means for constructive dialogue but there's more work to be done.
And he's calling for the revenue raised to be directed towards emissions reduction technology.
