BusinessGreen has today announced the shortlist for its inaugural Leaders Awards, providing a cross section of the top green businesses, executives and corporate thinkers in the UK.

The Awards evening will take place at London's historic Merchant Taylors' Hall on the evening of Thursday July 7, when figures from across the UK's emerging low carbon economy will gather to find out who has won.

The Awards received over 130 entries, each demonstrating the manner in which British businesses are increasingly embracing the urgent need to develop more sustainable business models.

The shortlist for each of the 10 categories highlights the genuine leaders in the emerging low carbon economy, and will present our panel of esteemed judges with an extremely difficult task as they attempt to agree on the eventual winners. It includes a wide variety of companies and executives, ranging from innovative startups to City blue chips, and sustainability managers to green entrepreneurs.

Each winner will receive an inaugural BusinessGreen Leaders Award, before being profiled on the BusinessGreen site as part of our efforts to provide other firms with best practice advice and guidance on how to develop more sustainable business models.
