Isra-Mart news:
Labour is using the comments of Government officials about the price of milk as justification for its policy on expanding the Emissions Trading Scheme.
The party wants to bring agriculture into the ETS, which has led the Government to claim that'd boost the price of dairy products.
Labour's David Parker is quoting the Ministry of Agriculture's Ian Cosser to claim prices wouldn't increase and are actually controlled by international forces.
"MAF recently reviewed domestic milk prices," he says. "We concluded that domestic milk prices reflected movements in international commodity prices and they track quite closely."
