BusinessGreen has confirmed the full speaker line-up for its upcoming lecture evening on Understanding and Exploiting Green Incentives, including leading industry experts and senior officials from the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) and the Cabinet Office.
The lecture, which takes place from 6:30pm on Wednesday June 29 at the London School of Economics' Wolfson Theatre, will provide an invaluable insight into the various green incentive schemes currently available to UK businesses, many of which are underutilised.
The evening will start with a presentation from Owain Service, deputy director of the Cabinet Office's Behavioural Insights Team, also known as the 'nudge unit', where he will outline how the government is using the power of incentives to help drive greener behaviours and investments.
He will be followed by Dan Monzani, deputy director of green deal legislation and finance at DECC, who will provide an update on how the government is looking to incentivise the development of greener buildings, primarily through its soon-to-be-launched green deal energy efficiency loan scheme.
The evening will also explore how electric car and other green car incentives are seeking to accelerate the rollout of more efficient vehicles, with influential green car blogger Lem Bingley offering an overview of how grants and tax breaks are helping to make cutting-edge, zero-emission cars affordable.
Finally, Dave Sowden, chief executive of the Micropower Council, will offer an insight into how the feed-in tariff and renewable heat incentive schemes are making microgeneration technologies an attractive investment option for growing numbers of businesses.
The presentations will be followed by a question and answer session and networking drinks, during which attendees will be able to put their questions to the panel.
