Environmental startups have been invited to take part in a new mentoring programme that will provide early stage support from one of the UK's most prestigious investment firms.
The Prince's Mayday Network yesterday announced that it has teamed up with investment banking specialist Rothschild to launch the mentoring programme, which will offer environmental entrepreneurs with limited experience in setting up their own businesses guidance provided by an employee of Rothschild's global financial advisory
division.
The group did not say how many startups Rothschild will select to become mentees, but interested firms are being invited to apply on the Mayday Network's web site before 20 May.
Katie Webber, campaign director of The Prince's Mayday Network, said the programme had been created in response to demand from the growing number of startups entering low carbon markets.
"We have noticed lately that there has been an increase in new and
innovative startups from the environmental sector signing up," she said. "We wanted to
be able to support these businesses in a more tailored way and the
Rothschild mentoring programme enables us to do this."
